Ever since I first heard RUTH's debut single 'Who Are You Living For?' back at the start of the year I have been keeping a close eye on the Kerry natives music. She is back with her latest track 'Queen Of The Con', darker in tone than her debut release.
It is apparent from the initial note that this is a slightly different approach from RUTH from her debut single. 'Queen Of The Con' starts with a sombre tone reminiscent of Lana Del Rey's vintage style before a soaring chorus kicks in where we really see the gravity of emotion portrayed within RUTH's vocals.
It is rare to see an artist so early on in their career who knows exactly what they want to be. Just looking at the visuals of RUTH it is clear that there is a vintage inspired style there from her black and white video for her debut single to her portraits that have an odd sense of mystery about them. This is an artist who knows exactly who she is with songs that need to be heard!
