Rachael Lavelle releases ‘Howling’

Haunting, unique vocals and buckets of emotion. It is with the first utter of a word that you know you are in for something special with Rachael Lavelle's latest track. 'Howling' is taken from the forthcoming EP entitled 'Superman' which is due to be launched in Whelan's on the 25th of September and gives us a little taste of what to expect from the rest of the EP.

'Howling was engineered and mixed by Damian Molony at 'Argyle' and mastered by Fergal Davis. The track features a repeated piano pattern throughout that builds with Violin stabs, bass guitar and cello with percussion coming from a djembe. The track shows off the unique writing style of Lavelle with a minimal approach to the backing allowing her vocals to soar higher and higher over the constantly building track.

We have been enamoured with the music of Rachael Lavelle ever since we first heard her play a session video for us in Smock Alley Theatre a few months back. Check out that video right here if you have yet to treat yourself to her song 'Robot'.

You can catch Rachael live in Whelan's on the 25th of September at the launch of her new EP 'Superman'.
