Top 10 Tracks of 2015: Kal Lavelle

It is coming up to the end of another year, there was some fantastic music released this year with some great new artists making a big name for themselves on an international level. As the year had so many great songs I decided to start a feature on the top ten tracks of 2015. I have asked a few people within the music industry to compile a list of their favourite tracks of 2015.

Check out the seventh list provided by London based Irish singer Kal Lavelle.

10. Sykes – Best Thing

One of my fav indie electro bands. They have toured with Kodaline this year and this particular track was playlisted on Radio 1 Introducing! Bright future ahead for them!

9. Cat Bear Tree – Adult

I love this song. So honest, so real and so catchy. It’s not often that you see a girl band playing their own instruments and being so god damn cool!!

8. Playing House – Grapefruit

Mel from Playing House has such a wonderful and distinctive voice. Certainly one of my favourite new bands and a joy to see live.

7. Kimberly Anne – Bury It There

I’m a big fan of Kimberly Anne. She had a Number 4 in the UK charts with her cover of ‘Show Me Love’ (Sam Feldt Ft Kimberly Anne). But I have chosen this song, as it’s her own. And you need to discover her talent!!

6. Anna Pancaldi – Out Ahead

Anna’s voice is so pure and definitely one of the best most angelic voices I have ever heard. Move over Adele, Anna Pancaldi is coming!

5. Stephanie O – Alive

Stephanie used to be in the successful Puppini Sisters (who were on Michael Bublé’s Christmas Album!) but she’s chosen to go solo, and I’m so glad she has! An incredible talent, multi-instrumentalist, with a smooth sexy voice.

4. Bryde – Wait

This is Sarah Howells’s new solo project (she is also in the acclaimed Paper Aeroplanes, check out their 2015 album 'JOY'!). I love her dark moving music and extraordinarily emotive and intimate vocals.

3. Fiona Bevan – Slo Mo Tiger Glo

Fiona is a great talent. She’s already scored a global Number 1 co-writing ‘Little Things’ with Ed Sheeran. You can hear ‘Slo Mo Tiger Glo’ on the recent HSBC advert and you should discover her album ‘Talk To Strangers’. It’s one of my all time favourite albums!

2. Billie Marten – Bird

I’ve known Billie and her music since she was in her early teens. I knew from the start she was going to go far. She’s being played on Radio 1 and is set for huge things!!

1. I Am Strikes – Love Is Just A Way To Die

I am so grateful that I discovered this artist this year, I’m not even sure how I discovered her. She’s USA based and very new but I’m hoping she’s going to tour this side of the world next year. OMG is she talented. It’s dark, dirty and phenomenally memorable, every word she sings you’ve felt. The world needs to know about I Am Strikes!

Kal has also provided a very handy playlist of these tracks for you to listen to. Check it out below.
